Another Poem

Melissa, Sweet Melissa
You gave me everything you could give
I wish our lives I could relive
I held your love and your heart
Until we grew so very far apart
And I threw it all away on selfish things
When I should have bought you a better wedding ring
I thought we were fine I was so very wrong
But instead of working on us, you strung me along
They say women take months to decide
And my behavior you just could not abide
So now we’re apart
I sit with a broken heart
I just couldn’t understand
And you played your hand
I pine for your love
And cry like a mourning dove
I miss you more than these words can say
I want you back in the worst kind of way
But if giving you space is what you need

I will endeavor to succeed
